Satyom Foundation – We Care
Satyom Foundation is a leading Indian development organization that touches the lives of over 2 million children and their families every year. With more than 400 active projects focused on education, healthcare, livelihood, and women’s empowerment, we operate across 2,000+ remote villages and urban slums in 27 states of India.
As a catalyst for positive change, Satyom Foundation complements and strengthens government initiatives, working towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We collaborate with like-minded individuals and institutions to design and implement high-impact programs that improve access, elevate quality, and foster lasting behavioural change at the grassroots level.
Our History
Satyom Foundation was established in 2002 by a group of friends united by a shared desire to give back to society. Their inspiration stemmed from the ideas of Peter Senge, founder of the Society for Organizational Learning, who emphasized that sustainability, social equality, and environmental issues are no longer just governmental concerns—they are also business imperatives. He believed that corporate leaders have a vital role in addressing these challenges.
This mindset took root during the 1990s, a period marked by the liberalisation of the Indian economy. The transformation opened up significant opportunities—revitalizing businesses and positioning India not just as a market but as a prime investment destination for the global economy. With growing disposable incomes and earlier financial stability, India’s middle class, for the first time, found the space to think beyond livelihood and explore ways to contribute meaningfully to society.
